A punch is on disk before the network is even attempted. Nothing is removed until the server confirms it, they send in the order they happened, and replaying a queue whose response was lost cannot double-count a shift. A device with the wrong clock is corrected against the server's.

Once a period is locked, edits and correction requests are refused. Reopening it needs a reason and is written to the audit log with who did it and when.

Days are rounded so they reconcile against the total printed above them, weeks are summed before rounding rather than after, and overtime is taken daily then capped weekly so an hour is never counted twice. Overnight shifts stay whole. Both daylight-saving nights pay the hours that actually elapsed.

SIN, date of birth, banking and tax details are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, kept apart from ordinary profile data, masked on screen, and readable only by the roles that genuinely need them — an administrator cannot read a SIN, and payroll can read a bank account but cannot change one. Every read of a sensitive field is written to the audit log with who read it and when.
Continuous location sharing is off unless a company turns it on, and every clocked-in employee sees a banner when it is on. Nothing is ever recorded outside an open shift.
